About SNIPP

Spay and Neuter Indiana PA's Pets

Who is SNIPP?

SNIPP was formed in 2013 by a group of animal advocates who recognized the need for an organization dedicated only to spay and neuter services.  We augment the services of the existing local animal organizations by focusing our efforts solely on raising funds and providing veterinary services for spay and neuter activities in the Indiana County area.

Our Mission

SNIPP's missions is to provide low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter surgery for cats and dogs in the Indiana County area.  Our focus is on assisting pet owners who do not have the means themselves to have their animals spayed or neutered.  We provide services for pet populations that are typically ignored such as feral cats and barn cats, in addition to helping those with limited means with spaying and neutering their house pets.

Our goal is to reduce the unwanted animals that are abandoned daily at local animal shelters.  Some benefits of spaying and neutering include:

  • Allows female pets to live longer by preventing uterine infections and breast cancer
  • Prevents testicular cancer in males if done before 6 months of age
  • Prevents females from going into heat
  • Keeps males at home and helps them to be better behaved (no more spraying to mark their territory!)
  • Reduces the number of unwanted animals roaming the streets
  • More importantly, helps reduce pet overpopulation and the number of animals that are euthanized.
